Latest Hazardous Weather Outlooks
Birmingham NWS (Fri - Wed)...
FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY. TROPICAL SYSTEM FAY WILL BRING SEVERAL WEATHER THREATS TO SOUTH CENTRAL ALABAMA FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...MAINLY GUSTY WINDS AND HEAVY RAINFALL. THE REMNANTS OF TROPICAL STORM FAY ARE CURRENTLY FORECAST TO MOVE WESTWARD ACROSS THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE AND INTO EXTREME SOUTHWEST ALABAMA BY THE END OF THE WEEKEND. ON THIS PATH...GUSTY WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH CAN BE EXPECTED GENERALLY SOUTH OF A LINE FROM LIVINGSTON...TO MONTGOMERY...TO HURTSBORO. HEAVY RAINFALL WILL BE CONFINED TO EXTREME SOUTH CENTRAL ALABAMA...GENERALLY SOUTH OF A LINE FROM YORK...TO LINDEN...TO TROY.
Huntsville NWS (Fri - Wed)...

TROPICAL STORM FAY WILL MOVE WESTWARD THROUGH THE FLORIDA
PANHANDLE AND PERHAPS INTO SOUTHERN ALABAMA THIS WEEKEND.
SOUTHEASTERLY WINDS AROUND THE NORTHERN SIDE OF THIS SYSTEM WILL
BRING AN INCREASE IN MOISTURE TO THE TENNESSEE VALLEY. AS A
RESULT...SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE MAINLY DURING THE
AFTERNOON HOURS THIS WEEKEND. ANY THUNDERSTORMS THAT DEVELOP WILL
BE CAPABLE OF STRONG WIND GUSTS AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL.

RAIN CHANCES MAY INCREASE INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK DEPENDING UPON THE
MOVEMENT OF TROPICAL STORM FAY. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE REMNANTS
OF THIS SYSTEM WILL CROSS THROUGH THE TENNESSEE VALLEY BY THE
MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK. THE PRIMARY THREATS WITH THIS SCENARIO WOULD
BE LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL. HOWEVER...THE EXACT TRACK OF THIS
SYSTEM REMAINS UNKNOWN...AND FURTHER OUTLOOKS WILL CONTINUE TO
BETTER REFINE THE OVERALL THREAT.
