THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BIRMINGHAM HAS ISSUED A

* TORNADO WARNING FOR...
WESTERN WALKER COUNTY IN CENTRAL ALABAMA...
THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF CARBON HILL...
EASTERN FAYETTE COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ALABAMA...
NORTH CENTRAL TUSCALOOSA COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ALABAMA...

* UNTIL 1230 AM CST

* AT 1206 AM CST...THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE INDICATED A SEVERE
THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO 11 MILES SOUTHWEST OF
BANKSTON...OR 13 MILES SOUTH OF FAYETTE...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 50
MPH.

* THE TORNADO WILL BE NEAR...
BERRY AND BOLEY SPRINGS BY 1215 AM CST...
6 MILES NORTHWEST OF OAKMAN BY 1225 AM CST...
9 MILES SOUTHEAST OF CARBON HILL BY 1230 AM CST...

THIS INCLUDES US 78 EXIT NUMBERS 46 THROUGH 70.

THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM.. IF YOU ARE IN ITS PATH...PREPARE
IMMEDIATELY FOR DAMAGING WINDS...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL AND DEADLY CLOUD TO
GROUND LIGHTNING.

THE SAFEST PLACE TO BE DURING A TORNADO IS IN A BASEMENT. GET UNDER A
WORKBENCH OR OTHER PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE. IF NO BASEMENT IS
AVAILABLE...SEEK SHELTER ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF THE BUILDING IN AN
INTERIOR HALLWAY OR ROOM SUCH AS A CLOSET. USE BLANKETS OR PILLOWS TO
COVER YOUR BODY AND ALWAYS STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.

IF IN MOBILE HOMES OR VEHICLES...EVACUATE THEM AND GET INSIDE A
SUBSTANTIAL SHELTER. IF NO SHELTER IS AVAILABLE...LIE FLAT IN THE
NEAREST DITCH OR OTHER LOW SPOT AND COVER YOUR HEAD WITH YOUR HANDS.

A TORNADO WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 300 AM CST WEDNESDAY MORNING
FOR WESTERN ALABAMA.
