Alabama + 50's = July?

The first two mornings of July have begun with low temperatures in the 50's across North Alabama. After a low yesterday of 56, this morning we bottomed out at 58. Yesterday the community of Broomtown in Cherokee County actually dropped to 49 and Vic Bell in Scrougeout in Etowah County dropped to 49.5.

I don't know what the globe is doing but Alabama seems to be cooling. If this keeps up they will call this the "year without a summer". Unfortunately for cool weather fans, temperatures and humidity will gradually rise to more typical July weather in the next few days.
