A PRELIMINARY STORM SURVEY OF THE DAMAGE INCURRED ACROSS LAWRENCE
COUNTY HAS BEEN COMPLETED BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE...IN
CONJUNCTION WITH LOCAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT. INITIAL FINDINGS ARE
AS FOLLOWS:

* EVENT TYPE: TORNADO
* EVENT DATE: 10/07/09

* ESTIMATED PEAK WIND: 80 MPH
* PRELIMINARY RATING: EF-0

* PATH LENGTH: 0.75 MILES
* MAXIMUM PATH WIDTH: 25 YARDS

* SUMMARY: A TORNADO BRIEFLY TOUCHED DOWN ACROSS SOUTHWEST
LAWRENCE COUNTY BETWEEN 1:15 AM AND 1:45 AM CDT EARLY WEDNESDAY
MORNING. THE MOST SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE OCCURRED ALONG COUNTY ROAD
59...SEVERAL MILES SOUTHWEST OF MOULTON...WHERE A CHICKEN HOUSE
COLLAPSED AND SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANT LOSS OF THE ROOF COVERING.
PARTIAL UPLIFT OF A MOBILE HOME METAL ROOF OCCURRED ALONG COUNTY
ROAD 58 ALONG WITH SEVERAL SURROUNDING LARGE TREES THAT WERE
UPROOTED AND SNAPPED.

THESE FINDINGS ARE PRELIMINARY AND ARE SUBJECT TO ADJUSTMENT.
