Severe weather this time next week?

For over a week the long range GFS has been advertising a strong storm system moving through Alabama around mid-November. The latest run continues to show a potential event to keep our eyes on. For Tuesday November 13 at 1 p.m. the GFS shows a strong low pressure centered over Mississippi.

Do not get too hung up on the details or the exact timing yet. Suffice it to say that we will need to stay "weather aware" around this time next week.

Remember that this is the secondary severe weather season in Alabama and that we have had numerous tornadoes in Alabama during the month of November most every year since 2000.
