I have finally decided to put up a map of my accumulation predictions for the snow predicted tomorrow into Monday. I think the greatest likelihood of heavy snow accumulation is across the Tennessee Valley of North Alabama. Some isolated spots may see as much as 10".
Ice is the main threat in Central Alabama. The area outlined in dark blue has a risk of significant icing but the greatest risk is in the light blue polygon. Earlier this evening I put together a few model maps into video form, below. It will be interesting to see what happens. 64/67 Alabama counties are under a Winter Storm Watch and much of the state is now under a Winter Storm Warning.
I have been posting about Alabama weather on this blog since April 2006. Here you will find my observations, information provided by the NWS, links to quality weather information from other sources, and historical weather data.
