Twenty years ago today...

Thanks to Brian Mears for reminding me of the Tuscaloosa, Alabama F3 tornado that occurred twenty years ago today. I made the attached video of the damage. This particular video was done the "wrong" way, taking a video of the television with my old camera. Soon I will transfer this to video the "proper" way and the quality will be much better. This comes from my own collection of weather video tape.

At 12:05 a.m. on 11/20/88 an F3 tornado touched down Tuscaloosa, AL, just south of I-59/20. It was 400 yards wide and on the ground for about one mile. No one died but eight were injured. A dozen homes were destroyed and 75 were damaged. $1.2 million in damage occurred.
