EF2 in Cullman County, Alabama

I have a busy day ahead so I will not be able to post my photos here this morning.

Please check here
.

After work yesterday I drove to the south side of Cullman County. I understand this damage was rated an EF2 tornado by the NWS Huntsville. There must have been multiple thousands of trees down between Arkadelphia and Colony. The damage widened and narrowed at different places and there might have been multiple vortices, based on the damage I saw. This tornado has been very underreported, except by 33/40. I guess that is because it hit a very rural area. Their live coverage was right on the money!

Here are the official storm surveys from the Huntsville NWS.

"Several debris paths were seen across southern Cullman county. The most significant damage occurred along Highway 91, in the vicinity of the town of Colony. Severeal chicken houses were destroyed and numerous large trees were snapped and uprooted. Elsewhere, significant tree damage was seen around Arkadelphia, along county roads 8 and 35. Spotty damage was also seen in extreme northeast Walker County and just east of Interstae 65, near Black Bottom, in association with this tornado." - NWS Huntsville

Is there any evidence to show that this tornado came through the Bug Tussle/Wilborn community? On County Road 18 there is a path approximately 1/4 mile wide where there were numerous trees uprooted or snapped in two. We had thirteen down on our property. The path of the debris seems to go from Co. Rd. 18 over to Highway 91 and continue from there.

Penelope, Yes indeed! I didn't drive over there, but that area would have been in the same exact path. I will pass your information on to the NWS Huntsville! Do you have any photographs of the damage?

Dewdrop...Thanks!

I have pictures, but I'm not sure how to upload them to the site. My husband took several pictures of the damage before he started cleaning up. I have those pictures on a CD. We still have a long way to go, and I'm sure it'll take our property quite some time to recooperate too!

Awesome! I appreciate it and am looking forward to seeing what happened out your way. When you send them, let me know what roads you took them on. I want to pass that on to Huntsville NWS. Also, they were in Cullman County, right?

Thanks a bunch!

All of these picks were taken on our property on County Road 18, extreme Southern Cullman County! They are on their way now...it's taking a little while.
